Can Geezer usage be improved? November 26, 2009

Gap Identified……..

We all will agree that on an avg our geezer is on in morning for 1 person around 20 minutes. But, I make sure that for my bath I switch on geezer for exactly 10 minutes and it gives me hot water equal to 1 bucket.

How I do this is a different story……… as when I switch the geyser on I put a alarm after 10 min on my mobile.

On an average I am saving around 45-50 rupees per month by doing this. (For 1 family member). It will be around 150 Rs for 3 members

Now can we automate this…..

Yes, A geezer can be provided with a remote on which we can feed the minutes we want to be switched on and then press the ON button on the geezer.

Advantage: Your sleep will not be disturbed as it can be done through remote on bed only.

Other system can be making geezer on through a sms say “ON 10 MIN” to 5454. This will be received by a life time activated supported sim inserted into the Geezer during manufacturing. The technology of geeser will be able to receive messages.

No doubt this can save a lot over a long period.

Hope this gets implemented soon.

Class Assignments soft copies collection technology November 24, 2009

I have identified a Gap. It would be great if this gap gets solved through google docs.

Say we are a class of 80 students.

1 leader is there his name is X

Teachers Y has given an assignment to be submitted in MS word with File name as “Subjectname_StudentName_RollNo”

Now all these 80 students will be generating 80 files and sending them to leader X who will be finally submitting to the teachers.

This is a very tedious job for the X as his email gets clogged and he can miss reading mails and at last he has to arrange all files in a folder names as say “Subjectname_AssignmentName”

What Google can do here

X should be able to create a form that says

Text Box: Enter your name ____________

File Upload Button: Upload your assignment with file name format “”Subjectname_StudentName_RollNo”" ____________________

Your files will be attomatically saved in a folder with me named “Subjectname_AssignmentName”

Finish

After Successful uploading of the file, the message comes…….

Your file is uploaded in the folder “Subjectname_AssignmentName” with X, Thank You !!

So………………………….

I believe this can really fill this gap and make technology available here……..

Kindly let me know if this feature is already there and some one has used it.

There is a folder upload and sending invite to people feature…….. but I was not able to explore it. It was not that user friendly…..

DESIGNING A PETROL PUMP WITH A SHOPPING arcade WITH EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT AND NO TRAFFIC CLOG November 22, 2009

This is a very simple design. 1 entry is given.

The entry will have small boards on top saying that

Diesel –> Extreme Left

Petrol (4 wheelers) –> Centre

Petrol (2 wheeler) and Convenience Centre –> Extreme Right

If this is done, the decision time for the customer will be outside the pump only as he no longer has to decide where to go for his specific need fuel after entering the petrol pump.

Say u are with yr wife, drop her at the entry gate only……… ask her to pick a water bottle, some chips, cold drinks, medicines, cigarette, bubble gums from the shopping arcade…….. . Ask her to meet you at the red circle.

Now you go and get the fuel.

say u spend 4 min on an avg to get the fuel.

Now u go at the air pump in station………. say u spend 2 minutes there.

Now since your wife is doing shopping and she might take more time depending upon the number of  things u have asked her to buy, u can take the slow exit point (broader one). This is kept broader in sense so that cars can be lined up in case there is more waiting.

If you have no one waiting, u can opt for the main route and leave the pump immediately.

This is a design which can

Reduce the time effectively

Provide ease of shopping (See the distance of shopping from fuel station with trees all around so very less pollution).

Pls make a note of things we are selling at the pump.

This was done as a class activity in petroleum vertical.

What if, aeroplane tyre does not open while landing !! November 22, 2009

dEAR ALL,

We all know and have seen the aeroplane with 3 tyres. I always wonder how these sensitive three typres (even though they are highly robust) with nitrogen gas (filled so that they do not catch fire at high speed) can support this high momentum.

Just think, oNE OF THE TYRES DO NOT OPEN AND THE PLANE HAS TO LAND IN SUCH A SITUATION !!!

I WANT TO ASK DO YOU HAVE ANY ANSWER to such situation………………..

WHAT I HAVE TO SAY HERE

Instead of making the airplane naked from the base………. direct aluminium to floor contact (which can increase the temperature) when the body will rub against the fly way, we can provide a rubber mat that is stick to the base of the airplane. Also this rubber mat has small tyres fix onto it. It is just like a mesh with small circular rings attached in between.

Now whats the benefit:

Assume that the tyres did not open and the airplane lands, if that rubber mat is there……… there will be very less heat and hence possibility of plane getting fire will be very less. Simultaneously if a  parachute is also opened from the back of the plane, it can be brought to rest at a much lesser time. This method can definitely avoid the plane from getting fire and above all saving life of 100 people sitting inside. It will also act as shock absorbers as the impact will take more time to be actually making a press on plane.

I would suggest the reader to kindly think and come up with any alternative if he or she can propose………
